PRESENTATION OF THE TEMPUS COMPUTERISED TRAINING CONSULTING CENTRE ON THE BASE OF TASHKENT STATE INSTITUTE OF CULTURE


Organizers – TEMPUS team of the project 45021-TEMPUS-2008-UK-JPCR “NEW MASTERS PROGRAMME IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE” and Tashkent State Institute of Culture
Participants– more than 40 directors and librarians from the Tashkent universities, rector and vice rector of TSIC, Mrs. Aziza Abdurakhmanova, TEMPUS Programme coordinator in Uzbekistan, NTO
Ceremony of TEMPUS computerised training consulting centre opening on the frame of Republican conference “Systems and technologies of corporative automated libraries” was held on the base of Tashkent State Institute of Culture in May, 17, 2010.
Tashkent State Institute of Culture was equipped by modern computers and other hardware thanks to the EU funded Tempus project 45021-TEMPUS-2008-UK-JPCR “NEW MASTERS PROGRAMME IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE”.
The main purpose of the Centre is contributing to the process of preparation of high quality specialists in library and information sciences and for organising effective teaching and learning with use of new information technologies.
Dr. M. Rakhmatullaev, professor of Tashkent State Institute of Culture, made the presentation of the Centre, explained its purposes and TEMPUS project activities.
M. Savochkin, director of the ‘Distance Education Centre’ of TSIC made report on Moodle virtual learning environment and how this system will be used in the TSIC.
Participants asked questions to the members of TEMPUS team about perspectives and next steps of the project. Mrs. Aziza Abdurakhmanova TEMPUS Programme coordinator in Uzbekistan, some professors and librarians supported and approved the activity of TEMPUS team.
